You have found this page because you are interested in becoming a follower of Jesus. When you follow someone on FB, you click to follow, it's simple. But that type of following doesn't require any commitment.
Following Jesus is also simple, but it requires the commitment of your life to Him. It's not following like you do on Facebook, rather it is the decision to become an apprentice to a master. You are making the choice to follow his example, and follow his teaching. You give your life to Jesus, and in exchange you get His life, because He will also commit himself to you as well. It is a big sacrifice you must make, but those who have made it will tell you it seemed big at the time, but was a small sacrifice in exchange for what they found in Jesus. Jesus wants to change you, and is calling you to commit to following Him.
First, talk to God. We call this prayer, but it is simply talking to Jesus. You may feel self conscious, and if so, make sure you are alone and nobody can hear you. Now tell Him what you are thinking. Tell Him that you want to become His follower. Ask Him to help you. Maybe you don't know what to pray... if that is the case, here is a prayer you can pray:
Jesus, I'm ready to follow you. I want to give you my life and become your disciple. I would like to ask that you take me and include me in what you are doing. Help me to understand who you are. Show me what you want from my life? Help me to be your follower. Amen.
Second, talk to someone else. Following Jesus isn't an individual thing you do on your own. It is something you do with others. Telling someone you have decided to follow Jesus is important. You may not be ready (or it may not be safe) to tell your family, or people near you. But you can certainly tell us of your decision. You have two options:

Third, start following Jesus by joining a church. It can be scary going to a church if you don't know anyone there. You'll need to be brave. If you live in a country where it is safe to do so, try going with a friend, or calling ahead and letting them know you are coming. If you live in a country where it is not safe, or you are unable to leave your home, or live in a remote place where there are no churches, you may want to join an online church. Peace offers you the opportunity to join an online church for those who are unable to attend a local church where you live.
